When Phil Vassar released his eponymous debut in 2000 I really didn't take notice until the second release, Just Another Day In Paradise, a song that peaked at #4 last year. This year four more songs charted on the Top 30 Country Songs beginning
with Rose Bouquet and followed by Six Pack Summer,
That's When I Love You, and this year's number one country song, Joe And Rosalita. This song spent five weeks at number one, the most this year and tied with The Most Beautiful Girl by South 65 and Just Let Me Be In Love by Tracy Byrd.
The song is about a ballcap good old boy and his brown eyed senorita, how they raised hell in high school, got married on the courthouse steps calling it 'The Great Escape', and ten years later with two kids still love each other with the fierce passion of their youth. This is one of those great uptempo story songs that country music does perfectly.
