Since charting country songs in 1999 one song has spent more weeks at #1 on the Top 30 CountrySongs than any other.  Something Like That by Tim McGraw spent nine weeks at #1 in the fall of 1999.  He only spent one week at #1 in 2001 with the abum track, Somebody Must Be Prayin' For Me.  However, he also had three other big chart hits throughout the year: Things Change, Grown Men Don't Cry, and Angry All The Time making Tim McGraw the Male Country Artist of the Year and Country Artist of the Year.
Female artists very rarely go to #1 on my charts.  This is even more true on the country charts where only four #1 songs this year were by female artists.  Sara Evans and Martina McBride each had a #1 song but Faith Hill had two #1 songs on the Top 30 Country Songs in 2001.  The first was If My Heart Had Wings and the second was the year end chart topper,
There Will Come A Day.  This latter is also doing well on the Top 40 and even on the Top 40 Christian Songs.  Congratulations go out to Faith Hill for being named Female Country Artist of the Year as well as to her and her husband, Tim McGraw, on the birth of their new daughter, Audrey Caroline McGraw!
